2018 Michigan gameday #7: vs. Wisconsin

Image result for wisconsin football logo
It's crunch time in Ann Arbor, and I don't just mean the leaves on the ground as fall has arrived in full force.  We've reached the toughest three-game stretch of the season for the Wolverines:  today's game, a trip to face Michigan State, then a return home against a Penn State team that will likely remain ranked.  5-1 Michigan (#12) has won five straight, including a trio of conference games, since the opening week loss to Notre Dame.

Last week's homecoming tilt with Maryland went quite well for the Wolverines, as Jeff and I can personally attest.  All three phases got it done besides a special teams TD and a couple garbage time scores, and QB Shea Patterson had what was probably his best game since migrating to Ann Arbor.  Plus that hurdle by Ben Mason (a FB!) was ridiculous.

Now Michigan has to deal with its first ranked team since week 1, #15 Wisconsin, who are 4-1, though as usual for the Badgers the devil is in the details.  Their win at Iowa was good but the preceding week they fell to a mediocre BYU team, and the rest of their schedule is weak as usual.  Penn State is their only real challenge remaining as the enjoy their annual feast of the Big Ten West.

Aside from some health issues on the defensive line Michigan appears to be catching the Badgers at home at a good time.  Wisconsin brings their usual beefy OL, video game stats-compiling RB, and above average QB to the table, but a below-average defense beset by injuries and an away night game against a humming Michigan team make this a tall challenge.  That likely explains the two-score spread, though I have a feeling this one will finish closer than that.  It's crazy for me to believe that the series between the teams has been absolutely dominated by Michigan, which leads 50-15-1.

So rest assured I'll be nervously watching tonight at 7:30 EST, and hopefully I'll be treated to one of the biggest wins of coach Jim Harbaugh's tenure at Michigan!

2018 trade package #13: My Sports Obsession

Not only did Jeff (My Sports Obsession) treat me to my first in-person Michigan Football game in six years this past Saturday--an emphatic win over Maryland--he also brought a new addition to my football collection:
Darboh no you di'n't!  Football hit #1311 is this jersey relic of the former Michigan WR from 2017 Panini Prizm's Prizm Premier Jerseys.  The Refractor-like Prizm design is readily apparent in this scan as is the nice blue Seahawks swatch.  Speaking of that team, Amara is current on IR with Seattle due to a knee injury, though the Patriots briefly held his rights before he failed a physical.  I'm hoping he can return to health and find some playing time in 2019 after a year lost to injury.

Anyway, I was excited to add what's now the seventh Darboh hit to my collection, plus I'll have another one to show off soon.

Once again, many thanks to Jeff for a great card and a hell of a time at a great game during a classic Ann Arbor Saturday.  Go Blue!

2018 Michigan gameday #6: vs. Maryland

Related image
Don't look now but it's homecoming in Ann Arbor!  I'll be staying home, in a manner of speaking, but coming to the home of Michigan Football as I attend my first game in-person since Jeff and I went in September of 2012.  I'd link you back to that post but all of the image links are broken, so, meh.  Anyway, speaking of Jeff, he's the reason I get to go this time as he generously offered me a ticket.  Thanks for letting me be your homecoming date, Jeff!
So, as we learned last Saturday, be careful what you wish for!  I requested "anything but" a repeat of the infamous "M00N" game and that was granted in the form of a nail-biter that I thought might kill me (followed by Penn State just about finishing me off thanks to the way they blew it against OSU).  Kind of more of the same thing we've seen all year--a slow start, a few small mistakes that add up (compounded by some big ones), penalties, and bad luck, but also occasional flashes of competence and even brilliance.  All that and one of the worst penalty calls you'll ever see:
In the end Michigan won and I had better things to do than criticize a bunch of college kids for what they did or didn't do.

Now the #15 Wolverines (4-1) have a bounceback opportunity with today's noon matchup with Maryland (3-1), a program embroiled in controversy because of a toxic environment under head coach and former Michigan DC D.J. Durkin, one that ultimately led to the completely unnecessary death of a player.  Hopefully those responsible will get appropriate punishment, though that would be small comfort to Jordan McNair's family.

On the field the Terps opened up their season with a win over Texas for the second straight year, then gave Temple their first win in three tries.  College football:  who knows?  Meanwhile the Wolverines look mortal but also showed lots of resolve in coming back from a 17-point deficit.  The run game got going, Shea Patterson warmed up a bit, and the defense put up another big second half.

For this game I'm predicting a Michigan victory that's not nearly as dramatic as last week's, though I do see Maryland's offense giving the Wolverines' D some fits before that unit locks things down.  Regardless I'm looking forward to my homecoming to the Big House no matter the weather (rain is certainly in the forecast).  Hopefully it'll also be a great day for the many alumni coming back for the festivities.  There's no place like home!

A Few Cheap Autographs

I got a few cards that I haven't seen Dennis post yet so here you go. I've been picking up a ton of relic and auto's of former Wolverines lately. I actually changed the way I search for player collections instead of searching for only up to a quarter, I search up to three bucks to include autos and relics and it's definitely made a difference on those former Wolverines whose cards are in their pro jerseys.

I'll start with the 2 non-relic/auto cards.

I know we've seen this photo here because Topps used it on a ton of his cards. I think I have 4 or 5 with this photo but somehow didn't have just the plain old Bowman Chrome. I picked this up for $.25/shipped. This is my 16th card of Taylor Lewan.

I also picked up this Leon Hall for only $.50/shipped. I upped my minimum bid for Michigan uniformed cards. I almost won this card twice as I bid on another one after I won this. I don't put them on my lists until I receive the card so I didn't realize I had just won it. Luckily, I got outbid on it.

This is my 6th card of Caris LeVert but it is my first autograph. I've bid on a couple of his but could never get one for $3 or under. This one comes to me for exactly $3/shipped, but wait, there's more. This one is also numbered 5/10, so how I won this and didn't win "lesser" autographs is beyond me but I'm certainly not going to complain.

This one may look familiar, it did to my collection as I believe it is the same card that Dennis sent me awhile ago, only this one is bigger. I haven't looked for sure but I think he sent me the mini version of this.  This is my 37th card of Shoelace, but only my 2nd autograph. I picked this up for $3/shipped as well.

This card was a steal in my mind. A Mike Hart (personal favorite) autograph, numbered to /99 and I picked it up for only $1.49/shipped. It is my 44th card of Mike Hart for my original pc guy of a former Wolverines.

I bid on a bunch of his card before I finally landed one and again, I bid on a bunch of the plain base autograph, didn't win, then ended up winning this one which is a purple die cut #'d /99. This is my 1st card of Channing Stribling and I picked it up for $2.49/shipped.

Another guy I bid on a bunch of times but couldn't win an auto cheap enough, so I cheated. Sine it was a Jake Butt in a Michigan uniform, I went a little higher on my bid. I still only won it for $4.25/shipped. It's my 5th card of Butt but my first autograph.

Last but not least, I overpaid for this card but it was for a good cause. I found a card shop in my area, it's not your traditional shop with showcases and such but you walk in and there are just a ton of boxes all over. quarter boxes, dime boxes and just boxes of rookies, stars, hof'ers ect. Oh yeah, and the lady that owns it I've known from other card shops for years. So I picked up a bunch of quarter cards that you'll see on my blog later, and I was going to pay with my debit but she was going to charge me a couple of bucks because she has a minimum to pay with a card. I understand, small business and all, so I grabbed this card and asked for a better deal then the $15 she was asking for. She knocked it down to $10 and I took it, mainly because I've known her awhile and I was excited at the prospect of having a shop to go to. I haven't been back yet because of work and she's not open very late in the evenings but I will go back. This is my 6th card of Darboh, 4 relics, this auto and a base card.

That's all I got for now so in closing, I'll leave you with the fact that we only have 100 days until our football season opener, against a team we better stomp their asses into the ground because I have personal stakes in it as I live just outside of South Bend.

Stay true to the Maize and Blue.

2018 trade package #8: My Sports Obsession

Besides the eBay cards I showed off on TMV today I came home from my trip last week to another envelope in my mailbox:  a surprise PWE from TMM collaborator Jeff of My Sports Obsession.

As always, Jeff sets his sights on eBay steals that meet his PCs, and sometimes that means doubles and more,  Occasionally that works in my favor, just like when I end up with Wolverine dupes.  That was the case here as he came up with a couple new cards for me:
You just saw THJ in my last post, a trade package from Doug, and now he's back for more.  Here he is on a 2017-18 Prestige base, which carries over one of my favorite brands (thanks to its design) to basketball.  As I said yesterday I hope his positive momentum from this season carries over next year after his triumphant return to the Knicks.
Naturally I'm more excited about this card as a football fan, though you already saw it in Jeff's post here a couple Sundays ago.  Thanks to him winning three of this card I'm now a proud owner of Amara Darboh's 2017 Certified Cuts Future Legends Memorabilia jersey relic.  And what a swatch it is, too, taking up a large portion of its half of the card.  Oversized relics are awesome, and free ones that come in trades are even better!  It's my first such hit out of four Darbohs in my football collection and I'm happy to keep adding more of the Seahawks WR that was fun to watch in Ann Arbor.

Thanks again for this surprise pair, Jeff, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of the stuff I sent your way recently.  GO BLUE!

Lots of Relic/Autos on the cheap

It's been a good couple of weeks for me (Jeff, btw) for picking up former Wolverines on Ebay for cheap. I've just been chilling and waiting for them all to arrive because they came from different sellers. I'm not sure why all of the sudden I've been winning these cards or really, why they've been getting listed fairly cheap because I hadn't really seen much in my parameters up until a month or so ago.

This is my 7th card of Stauskas and my 2nd autograph of him. This one is numbered to /149. How much did I pay for this slick and shiny card? Only $2.25/shipped.

This is my 8th card of Stauskas, it's also my 2nd relic card of him. The above 2 cards are also the only 2 I have of him in a Sacramento Kings jerseys.  I picked this one up for $1.46/shipped. Technically, I won it for $1.25 but when it arrived, it was short $.21 postage due. I went ahead and paid it since it was this card. I never do when I win the $.25 and under cards. I make the seller pay me back.

This was actually a 3 card lot that I won for $3.75/shipped. Even only keeping 2 of them puts each card at $1.87/shipped and $1.88/shipped. These make 3 out of the 4 cards I have Relics, but the other base card is in his Wolverines uniform so it's still better.

These 3 all came from the same seller. The top card is my 5th of Darboh, 3 of those being in this post. It's also numbered to /99 on top of being a dual relic.

The DeVeon Smith auto is only my 2nd card of his and my 1st of his in a pro uniform. I don't expect this collection to take off. He was undrafted and I don't believe he is signed right now. I picked this up for $1.58/shipped.

The last card is only my 2nd of Wormley, both being autographs. I picked this one up for $1.54 shipped. He is still on the roster for the Ravens so hopefully I'll pick up some more cards of his.

I guess it's a good time to pick up all these former Wolverines since football and basketball are over and the Big Ten network doesn't show very many baseball games and the spring game got cancelled so I need some more Michigan in my life right now.

2018 trade package #4: My Sports Obsession

The other day I was excited to come home to a surprise PWE from fellow Michigan collector and occasional contributor to this here blog Jeff of My Sports Obsession.  Jeff knows how much I love getting new Wolverines cards, and I couldn't imagine that the White Sox fan (for whatever reason) would spend any money on cards of the far superior Tigers, so I figured it would be something for one of the many collections I show off here, but what?

Once I tore through the envelope I was happy to find the result of Jeff's daily eBay searching (I'm assuming) paid off nicely for me in the form of a new player for my football PC:
The 208th different member of that collection is DL Chris Wormley on an auto/RC from Panini's 2017 Contenders Draft Picks!

Wormley was a four-year Wolverine who appeared in 42 games between 2013 and 2016.  Over those campaigns he piled up 31.5 TFL (including a career-high 14.5 in 2015) and 17.5 sacks, and all that was good enough for him to get selected by the Ravens in the 3rd round of the 2017 draft (a.k.a. the one that was absolutely stacked with his teammates).  He even appeared in seven games for Baltimore last year.

It took me a minute to realize which product I was looking at here since I'm generally more familiar with "regular" Contenders, which includes vets and rookies in their pro uniforms.  Since 2015 Panini has also made the Draft Picks version like you see above, where everybody is pictured with the college where they made their names before the pros.  Naturally that product gets more respect from me (though of course I still very much like the original).

All in all it's a great looking card for the first of what I hope is many hits of Wormley.

Thanks, Jeff!  I have a few things set aside for you and will surely have more by the time the spring game rolls around, so hopefully I'll see you then!

2017 Michigan gameday #12: vs. Ohio State

Image result for ohio state michigan
It's game #12 for Michigan and that means it's time for one of the most anticipated matchups in all of sports:  the Buckeyes against the Wolverines in the 113th edition of The Game.
Image result for michigan ohio state david boston
It's a rivalry that's seen plenty of highs and lows for the Maize and Blue, and lately it's been the latter with OSU on a five-game winning streak as they've been victorious for 14 of the 16 games since 2001.
Image result for howard michigan ohio state
A young and likely overmatched 2017 Michigan squad (8-3) doesn't seem likely to buck that trend against an Ohio State team (9-2) that's largely dominated its competition this season besides losses to Oklahoma and Iowa(!!!) and a nail-biter over Penn State.  Young QB Brandon Peters' health is on the minds of everyone cheering from Ann Arbor and beyond as Jim Harbaugh's team aims for an upset and something positive to take from this somewhat trying season.
The Wolverines were inches from a huge win last year, and while I don't know that it'll be quite that close in the waning minutes of this one, I do know that they have an ace up their sleeve:  TMM co-author and My Sports Obsession writer Jeff will be in attendance.  Could this be the factor that puts Michigan over the top?  Tune in at noon EST, just as Bo would have demanded.

Let's.

Go.

Which Glasgow?

I was going to post this on Sunday but after Saturday nights game I was just to disgusted. I'm not going to get into all that but I will say it was a very frustrating game to watch as you can tell by my tweet.

I did just want to drop by and show you my latest $3 pick-up.

It's my first card of Ryan Glasgow, my first card of any of the Glasgows as this family keeps churning out football players for Michigan. Graham is in the pros (Lions) as is Ryan (Bengals) and the younger brother Jordan is still at Michigan. Regardless, I've bid on this card a couple of times and ended up outbidded as I usually only put $3/shipped on autos but I finally managed to get this one for my max bid.

As far as the team goes, I won't shut any games off, I just can't, but if they keep playing like this, my excitement for going to the Ohio game lessens. Let's see if they can turn it around this weekend at Indiana. At least this game is at noon, I hate having to wait all day to watch them.

2017 trade package #3: Sports Cards From the Dollar Store

First, a quick thanks to Jeff who put up a post last Monday since I've been pretty lazy with posting lately!  I should try to follow his example and pick up some nice stuff of Trey Burke.

Anyway, in trade package news I already received my second envelope from Doug, my prolific trade partner who runs Sports Cards From the Dollar Store.  It actually arrived early in February (I think!), way before I'd even responded to the first great package he sent me.  Unlike that stack of cards, this one was all hockey, all the time!
Here's a page of base and inserts of enough guys to field a starting five skaters.  The "hockey Mikes" tag makes its return thanks to LW Cammalleri (2009-10 UD) and RW Knuble (2003-04 Private Stock).

Recent newcomer to the league Andrew Copp is our first of two centers, and he's represented by a 2015-16 Upper Deck Contours Rookie Resume insert (#239/399); I'll need to add him to my hits collection at some point!

Matt Herr is a guy I don't remember too well, but the Hackensack, NJ native spent four very productive years--72 goals and 133 points--in Ann Arbor before suiting up at center for the Caps, Panthers, and Bruins.  I'm always glad to learn about players I've missed, so thanks to Doug for including this 1999-2000 Upper Deck Victory base!

Blog favorite Brendan Morrison, like former teammate Herr, was also a C who appeared on a UD Victory base card, in this case from 2009-10.  One of these days I'll work on my Morrison collection so I have enough to scan in an album to show off.

Max Pacioretty is another left-winger, and like his former Canadiens teammate Cammalleri, he appears here in the form of a 2009-10 Upper Deck base card, with its excellent design including team-appropriate colors.

Lastly, our blue line tandem comprises Greg Pateryn, another former Canadien (2013-14 Prizm), and still-a-Jet-somehow Jacob Trouba (2013-14 Score).  Both of these are Panini-branded RCs.

The fun clearly didn't stop there, though, thanks to this fantastic addition:
Phil Di Giuseppe 2015-16 The Cup patch auto RC (#211/249)
Not only is this a beautifully done RPA, it also represents my first hit of former Michigan LW (2011-2014) Phil Di Giuseppe.  Phil was a 2012 second-round pick for Carolina, and after two-plus seasons in the Hurricanes system he made his debut last season, potting seven goals and 10 assists in half a season's worth of action.  While he's added just one goal to that total in 26 games this season, he still has a ton of potential.

Anyway, check out that patch!  This is clearly one of those instances where the patch outshines the signature--I guess he didn't feel like writing out his full name 249 times!  I'm happy to add PDG as the 48th member of my hockey PC.

If you thought that was a pretty sweet addition, well, I have news for you:  I saved the best for last.  And yes, it can get better!:
This here is a black-and-white postcard of former WolverWing (and current Michigan Hockey coach) Red Berenson produced by photographer J.D. McCarthy, who made such postcard photos for players to use to respond to fan mail.  Red indeed signed this one in nice blue ink and sent it to a fan in Chicago.  I can even clearly read the postmark from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, from 1972, when he was in his second or third season in Motown.

Honestly, a signed postcard from back then is beyond cool, but Doug really knocked it out of the park (what's a good hockey analogy?  "Really sniped one from the blue line"?) by sending me one of the former Wolverine as a member of the Red Wings.  This is an extremely cool piece that I'll add to the college game-used puck I had Red sign a few years back as part of my Michigan autographed sports memorabilia collection!

Thanks for yet another killer package, Doug!  I hope to return the favor again before long, but in the meantime I'm glad to see you're enjoying the stuff I sent to you a couple weeks ago.

2016 trade package #15: World Series Wolverines from My Sports Obsession

As mentioned on TMV tonight, I met up with Jeff this past Saturday as he was in Ann Arbor attending the Michigan-Illinois game.  I'm guessing he headed home happy after another resounding Wolverine win.

I loves me some in-person trading and this was no different.  This time the bulk of the goods was Tigers and non-Michigan baseball PC players, but Jeff and I are both Michigan collectors so naturally there was some Wolverines content as well.  And as it turns out, everything in this post is also baseball, fitting in nicely with the World Series theme from the TMV post.

Here's a gander at what I got:

  • Jim Abbott 1993 Pinnacle:  Abbott never got to experience any round of the playoffs, but then again he played in the 90s for the Angels, Yankees (pre-dynasty), White Sox, and Brewers, so that's no surprise.  That's too bad--he would have been fun to watch in the playoffs.
  • Chris Getz 2009 O-Pee-Chee and 2014 Topps Red Hot Foil:  Chris played for a relatively short seven years, mostly with White Sox and Royals teams that weren't all that great except for his 2008 rookie season, when Chicago left him off the roster.  He's at least relevant to the South-Siders once again having been hired as director of player development.  Hopefully that position leads to a fantastic front office career!
  • Steve Ontiveros 1986 Donruss:  Hmmm, nothing here either, though Steve at least spent time with the '88 Oakland team that won the NL pennant.  This theme isn't looking to good for the Wolverines today!
  • Clayton Richard 2014 Topps:  HERE we go--Clayton was part of that '08 White Sox squad that Getz missed out on, and he appeared in 6 1/3 innings over two games as his team lost to the eventual AL pennant-winning Rays.  Seven years later he pitched in six games as the Cubs beat the Cards in the 2015 ALDS, then lost to the Mets.  It's conceivable Richard could have been part of the Cubbies' pen this year, but he was let go in August, and actually went on a decent run in a return to the Padres.
  • Chris Sabo 1992 Topps Stadium Club:  Ah, here's our winner.  Spuds participated in only one season's worth of playoffs but made it count as his 1990 Reds team beat the Pirates and Athletics to win it all.  His NLCS was solid, including a game 4 homer that plated the eventual winning run, but he took things to the next level against Oakland, going off for a .563 average, two more taters (both in game 3), and five RBI.  If not for Jose Rijo's excellent pair of starts--both wins--Chris may have won MVP honors.

Jeff tossed in a nice hit as well:  this auto:
And it's a very timely Indians card as well.  Zach Putnam, here on a 2009 Bowman Prospects auto card, was drafted by Cleveland but pitched for them for just a year before being shipped to Colorado.  He then spent 2013 with the Cubs and then the last three seasons in Chicago for Jeff's favorite team, so he's never been part of a playoff-bound club, much less been left off a postseason roster.  Hopefully he's not bad luck!

Jeff, thanks for another fun in-person trade.  I'm guessing we'll have to wait until sometime next year to do it again, but at least that gives me some time to track down new stuff for you!

2016 Michigan gameday #7: vs. Illinois

It's been a while since Michigan faced off against Illinois.  How long?  Try 2012, when Brady Hoke was on the sideline, Denard Robinson was the QB, and Devin Gardner was in the midst of his stint as a WR.  Shoelace was responsible for four TDs--two passes and two runs--in a 45-0 stomping of the Illini that may be a reasonable preview of today's game.  Michigan held their opponent to just 29 passing yards on 7 completions, plus 105 yards on 37 carries for a total of 134 yards.  The offense did most of its damage on the ground with 353 yards on 51 carries, good for a 6.9 YPC clip.
The biggest difference this year is the stakes; that team headed into the game at 3-2 after losses to Alabama and Notre Dame, while this year's version roars into homecoming at 6-0 ranked #3 in the country.  After a complete dismantling of a hapless Rutgers team two weeks ago the Wolverines enjoyed a bye last weekend to heal up and rest up (and probably enjoyed the results of MSU's and Notre Dame's games as well).  They'll look to take care of business today before heading to East Lansing next Saturday for what folks originally thought would be a bigger game between ranked teams prior to the season.

Oh yeah, and friend of the blog (and occasional co-author) Jeff will be in attendance as well, so let's add that to the reasons I'll be rooting for the Maize and Blue as usual.

The weather is crisp, the sky is blue, and the leaves are changing color.  Yep, it's football weather.  Time to keep the wins rolling and please the students and alumni, fans young and old, and sing The Victors once again.
LET'S GO BLUE!

I had a good week

Hello Michigan faithful, Jeff here with some additions to my collections.

Looks like our Big Ten Championship hopes are still alive with the State loss last night. If that team from Ohio can beat State in a couple of weeks and we win out, including beating that team from Ohio, then it will be highly likely that we will be facing Iowa(?) for the Big Ten Championship. To be honest, just that we are even being included in this conversation this late in the year is already an improvement over the last few seasons, more than a few really. I expected us to be relevant again, I wasn't sure it was going to happen the first year of the Harbaugh era however.

Let's get to the real reason we are here, cards. I received these from Dennis.

Derrick Alexander and David Terrell

Todd Collins and Steve Breaston

Denard Robinson

The Denard is my first relic of his and I actually have a player collection of him so the non college uniform is just fine for that.

Those cards are awesome in their Maize and Blue glory (except the Robinson) but the next card was by far, the best in the package. You may remember a little over a month ago that Dennis went to a card signing with Mike Hart, who is my all-time favorite Wolverine. He got himself a photo op as well as had him autograph a SI with Hart on the cover. What he didn't tell you was that he also asked him to sign another card.

He signed it, to me, that is awesome. I promptly took a photo of the card and sent it to my mom and brother (who are also Michigan fans) just to make them jealous, it worked. Then at work the next day, I showed the photo of the card around to other Michigan fans. This is definitely the pride and joy of my collection.  Dennis is the man, my Michigan collection would hardly be nothing if it wasn't for him and I can't thank him enough.

A week or so after I got his package, I headed out to a local card show at the mall. I wasn't expecting much. The last time I went to a show here, it sucked. I barely even looked at anything, let alone bought anything but I figured I'd try it again. I'm glad I did. The first table I walked buy caught my eye because I saw a couple of Michigan cards. I found out the seller is actually a Michigan fan so he had a quite a few cards for me to look at. Here's what I walked away with.

Anthony Thomas relic - I couldn't pass this one up, A-Train in Michigan colors, yes please.

Kevin Koger auto - This card looked familiar to me but I was checking my have list and it didn't show so I set it aside anyways. Come to find out, Upper Deck just had them autograph the same card as his base which is why it looked familiar, I already had the base card.

LaMarr Woodley auto - I didn't have this Press Pass auto so I set it aside as well.

Mike Martin auto - Again, I looked at this and could have swore I had this card as well. I checked out my have lists and I already had the red auto which is the same, but with red ink.

Devin Funchess - My first card of Devin Funchess and it's a pretty slick one at that.

Mitch McGary auto - This was one of the first cards I set aside because I didn't have any cards of McGary, let alone any autographs so I really wanted this one.

Nik Stauskas - This is the Michigan card that caught my eye as I walked by, how could it not. I'm not a huge fan of the manufactured relics or whatever you want to call them but they are still some usually nice looking cards and I thought this one looked pretty awesome.

Needless to say, I had a pretty good week (about a month ago) when it came to my Michigan collection. Now to sit back and watch the football team continue to kick some ass and in a week, start to watch the basketball team try and do the same. It is a good time to be a Wolverine fan.
