Michigan welcomes the Air Force Academy today at noon in one of those unfortunate reminders of former AD Dave Brandon's reign of terror (side note: better you than us, Toys R Us). Why am I down on this game? Two reasons: I don't like rooting against service academies because of all they do for us (and not just beating Notre Dame pretty often!). Plus, they always run specialized offenses that you have to prepare for despite seeing them once in an entire season.
As a matter of fact, I got an object lesson in both at the last game I attended in person, a too-close 31-25 victory over the Falcons in 2012 (a game I went to with Jeff, by the way). I did enjoy the game otherwise, to be fair, thanks to Denard Robinson TD runs of 79 and 58 yards and passing scores to Devins Funchess and Gardner.
Anyway, let's get out of this one with a comfortable and healthy victory, please. Make the score a bit more lopsided than last week's relative stumble against Cincinnati if possible, but more important, build some momentum for the start of conference play next Saturday. And of course, respect those who serve.
Let's.
Go.
Blue.
