2013 eBay purchase #56: a game lost by a shoelace

I'm doing something I usually don't do in putting up a normal post on a football Saturday, but after Michigan's tough loss (in what was a fantastic and crazy game) at Penn State, filled with a lot of "shoulda, coulda, woulda," I thought I might feel a bit better putting something up, and in face I think I have the perfect candidate.

Sam of the Daily Dimwit traded me my first Denard Robinson hit a few weeks ago, which was very exciting, to be sure.  But right around the same time I picked up another nice Shoelace card that I've been dying to show off:
Denard Robinson 2013 Leaf Valiant Draft auto

It's my first Michigan uniform auto of D-Rob!  I won this on eBay for less than I was expecting, paying a hair over $10 delivered.  How much was my actual final bid?  $10.16!  Yeah, I got a bit cutesy there, but regardless, I won the card I wanted.  The design is a nice throwback to the Leaf/Donruss Valiant inserts of yore (a.k.a. the 90s), but most important to me is the photo of Denard--on the move, naturally--in maize & blue.  I can't wait to add similar hits of the versatile star QB soon.

As for why this card is so appropriate for this evening, I'd like to give credit to my Wolverines for a valiant effort today.  They came up short despite multiple opportunities to put the game away, but they also put themselves in position to win that many times, and I look forward to them growing as a team as the season goes on.  GO BLUE!
