Ryan LaMarre 2010 Donruss EEE School Colors auto (#86/90)
Pretty cool, no? My second LaMarre auto (the first is this manupatch) is this sweet numbered insert that also hails from 2010 EEE. Oddly enough, I have two of his tougher insert autos from the set, but not any of his base/parallel versions yet. Anyway, the theme of these set is awesome and Panini pulled it off well. Although Ryan's not a big-time prospect right now, I hadn't seen many of these available at all, so this was definitely a worthwhile pickup for me for a few bucks on Blowout. That and it's a guy in a Michigan uni, come on!
Ryan, for those of you who aren't familiar with him, was a second round pick of the Reds in 2010. The OF is not among their top 10 as ranked by BA, but he's been listed as their best defensive outfielder the last two years and has shown a little hitting ability, so you never know!
Hopefully this is the start of many LaMarres in my collection, and hopefully more of those will be officially licensed cards of him in a Reds uni before long. For now, I'll take on the challenge of grabbing as many of his 2010 Elites as I can.
That is definitely a great design. I got to get me some of those.
ReplyDelete2010 Elite is easily one of my favorites, and 2011 came out like total crap in comparison. I can't believe I busted 6 boxes of 2010 and only pulled 1 UM auto! I may have to bust more of those if I can get another break together.
DeleteI like the design too. I don't really know any of the players on the team, but I am keeping track of the Wolverine baseball team does this year. I hope they can have a decent season.
ReplyDeleteI know, I don't follow them as closely as I'd like either, even with them being just down the street. The thing is, college baseball is severely skewed towards warm-weather states, so you won't catch me going to games in early spring here! I do really like some of the players I do know, especially my favorite recent name, Coley Crank.
