COMC haul #24: a heady LaMarre

(Note:  all COMC haul posts can be accessed here)
That's "HEDLEY"
Waaaaaaaaay back at the end of last November I showed off a trio of hits featuring former Wolverine OF Ryan LaMarre, who's now a Reds prospect.  Well, today I don't have any hits for you, but I do have eight more cards to add to his PC:
Ryan LaMarre 2010 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects Purple Refractor
JaMarcusFractor?  PrinceFractor?  GrimaceFractor?  I think we could have done without the purple, but whatever, it's still a Refractor.
Ryan LaMarre 2010 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects Refractor
True Refractor is Best Refractor!
Ryan LaMarre 2010 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects
I actually needed this for the set so it's going straight to that box.
Ryan LaMarre 2010 Bowman Draft Prospects Blue (#203/399)
Could use a much better "blue" but still, GO BLUE!
Ryan LaMarre 2010 Bowman Draft Prospects Gold
Still thick and useless after all these years....  Put a hoodie on it and you've got Cowboys DC Rob Ryan.
Ryan LaMarre 2010 Donruss EEE School Colors
Meh, I like the autographed version better.
Ryan LaMarre 2010 Donruss EEE Status (#080/100)
2010 EEE is easily one of my top-five sets of all time, partially thanks to sweet parallels like this one.
Ryan LaMarre 2011 Topps Pro Debut Blue (#032/309)
"Welcome to Dayton, kid.  If you don't die from the stench you got a good shot of a call-up."

These eight new LaMarres give old Ryan a new IHAS total of 18 out of his 33 issues I'm counting (not including 1/1s, of course).  I hope he's one player I can wrap up this year, but that could prove difficult thanks to multiple rare cards numbered to 25 and lower.  Still, you never know, and I'm totally up for the challenge!  Sadly, this is the end of the LaMarres I picked up this time, but you can bet I'll be after more the next time I pick stuff up from COMC.

Next time I'm leaning towards going back to the football well, or possibly hockey, so stay tuned for that!

COMC haul #15: a colorful ChristianMas

(Note:  all COMC haul posts can be accessed here)

Since it tis the season and all, I thought that after I showed off a bit of color on Wednesday, I should keep that theme going today with a different player.

Jason Christian is a Michigan Baseball alum I found out about accidentally, and that discovery sent me after his fairly small collection.  Over the course of my three recent COMC packages, I acquired a bunch more of his cards, which hail exclusively from 2009 Donruss EEE and 2010 Bowman Chrome.  Since the latter are certainly the more colorful of the two, that's what I'll be showing off today.  In addition to the base Bowman and Chrome cards I already had of him while working on this sets, I now have these:
Jason Christian 2010 Bowman Chrome Prospects Blue Refractor (#129/250)
Jason Christian 2010 Bowman Chrome Prospects Purple Refractor (#047/999)
Jason Christian 2010 Bowman Chrome Prospects Refractor (#740/777)
Jason Christian 2010 Bowman Prospects Black
Jason Christian 2010 Bowman Prospects Blue (#442/520)
Jason Christian 2010 Bowman Prospects Orange (#86/250)

Why are there so many different parallels for each of the base and Chrome cards?  I have no idea, but fortunately, most of them are cool.  I could definitely do without the unnumbered Black cards, but as long as things don't get too ridiculous, I'm cool with a few different Chrome Refractor colors.

So all told, Jason has 11 different base and Chrome cards in 2010, and I have eight of them, which means I'm missing the Gold (#d /50), Orange (25) and Red (5) Refractors.  Since Christian is relatively new to my PC, I won't be breaking the bank to acquire those, but I'll certainly be on the look-out.

Stay tuned in the future for the rest of my Christian pickups, and sooner than that for more COMC Wolverines!  And please remember to head over to Too Many Verlanders for a five-spot of Wolverine favorite Barry Larkin relics.
