Denard Robinson 2013 Topps Chrome 1959 Minis and 1965
First, at $0.50 a pop I scored these two Shoelace inserts from 2013 Topps Chrome. The '59s are made to look like Topps' set from that year, such as this Alex Karras on COMC, though in a Mini version. Meanwhile, Topps went to an even more interesting (in my opinion) design with the other insert by honoring the '65 "Tall Boy" set, one that includes an iconic Joe Namath RC. $1 worth of Denards now find themselves a new home in my Michigan Football inserts collection.
David Terrell 2001 Fleer Premium Rookie Revolution Autographs auto and 2001 Pacific Dynagon auto RC (#146/199)
Lastly, from the same seller I picked up a pair of David Terrell rookie year autos. At $2 apiece they were on the higher end of my pickups from this seller, from whom I nabbed a bunch of great stuff for just $25. I was quickly drawn to these two signature cards, both of which feature the former #1 in a Michigan uniform. The Fleer Premium card looks so different that I was initially surprised to realize that it was from a Fleer product, and I don't believe I've ever seen this set before.
The manufacturer of the other card was immediately obvious, of course, but hey, it's a great full uniform shot of David and includes an autograph. As a bonus these combined to give me a new total of 40 cards for the former star WR, putting him back on pace with blog teammate Anthony Thomas. He's the 10th member of the football PC's 40+ hit club as well, which keeps the milestone train going today.
With a couple distracting shows out of the way I think I may finally get to the trade packages languishing on my desk!
I'm digging that Fleer Premium auto. I didn't remember those. Not too different from the Autographics.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, now that you point that out they do remind me a bit of Autographics, so it seems strange that they would go with a different idea here.
