COMC haul #9: The Legend of Tom Brady

(Note:  all COMC haul posts can be accessed here)

About a year ago I was celebrating Michigan finally getting back to a nine-plus-win season thanks to new coach Brady Hoke.  This season's record hasn't been quite as spotless, but at least nine wins this year wouldn't be out of the question again.

I refer back to that post not only because of the timing, but also because today's COMC pickup is the finishing piece of a trio of cards I've wanted, two of which I grabbed almost exactly a year ago:
This is the third of Tom Brady's 2011 Topps Super Bowl Legends Giveaway die-cuts.  A quick reminder of what the first two look like:
These three cards represent Brady's Pats winning Super Bowls 36, 38 and 39, with the latter being today's card, which commemorates the triumph over Donovan McNabb's Eagles.  It was apparently a hobby shop exclusive, but it eventually ended up on COMC and I actually grabbed it for a song--about $3.50--considering what some of these go for, and what I had to go through to get the first two:  entering a ton of codes and doing some furious trading.

I don't have a football inserts album yet, and I'm not sure if that's something I'll do, but either way, this card has a nice home in my Brady PC.  It looks as beautiful in-person as the scan makes it out to be (if not more) and is a nice tribute to Brady's immense NFL success.  Hopefully he'll appear in a few more Super Bowls before all is said and done.

As for his alma mater, the lowly Iowa Hawkeyes travel to town Saturday, so GO BLUE!
