2016 Michigan gameday #10: at Iowa

Michigan, coming off a fine showing in a 59-3 home win against Maryland, heads to Iowa City for an 8 pm matchup with the 5-4 (3-3) Hawkeyes.  While Iowa will be playing for bowl eligibility thanks to losses to North Dakota State (FCS), Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Penn State, Michigan continues to control its own destiny on its path to the Big Ten championship game.

The 9-0 Wolverines hold a 41-14-4 mark in the series, though the Hawkeyes won the last contest between the teams in 2013.  A 22-point spread appears to contradict what could be a fairly close game, though Michigan's offense has been much more potent than Iowa's this season.  Hopefully an ever-improving Wilton Speight can QB Michigan to a 10th win with help from Jabrill Peppers and an excellent defense.  Look for Jim Harbaugh's squad to rise to the occasion once again in their next step towards history.

Michigan gameday 2013 #11: at Iowa

The heart attack-inducing Wolverines, owners of a 7-3 record thanks to THIS craziness,

head to Iowa, for a late November contest with the 6-4 Hawkeyes.  The game will be on BTN at noon EST.

After a strange up-and-down 10 games, the Wolverines aren't in position to do much other than slightly improve their bowl game prospects and overall record, but there's still a 10-win season to shoot for, so there's that!  Will Michigan still be riding high on last week's improbable comeback?  Can they make it two in a row on the road, something that's eluded them during head coach Brady Hoke's run?  Will I retain my mental health if Michigan heads to overtime again?  Find out this afternoon!

Michigan gameday 2012 #11: vs. Iowa

It's Senior Day here in Ann Arbor as the Wolverines play their final 2012 road game before heading down south next weekend.  Today's opponent will be Iowa, an awful, if typical, Big Ten team that did at least manage to beat the mediocre Spartans.

Today will be a somber day at the Big House as Michigan bids farewell to Craig Roh, Will Campbell, Jordan Kovacs, Kenny Demens, J.T. Floyd, Brandin Hawthorne, Brandon Moore, Vincent Smith, Elliot Mealer, Elliot Mealer's beard, Ricky Barnum, Patrick Omameh, Mike Kwiatkowski, Roy Roundtree, and yes, Denard Robinson (who may be limited to a ceremonial play or two due to injury).  It's been quite the battle for these seniors, all of whom dealt with a tumultuous coaching change and plenty of adversity.  May they all succeed at whatever their post-graduation career brings them, but regardless, they are all Michigan Men.

So here's to the seniors, the underclassmen, and THE TEAM, THE TEAM, THE TEAM!  LET'S GO BLUE!!
