2014 eBay purchase #21: bork bork bork!

Well, the Stanley Cup playoffs are over, and after an exciting run the Kings claimed their second title in three seasons.  Congratulations to them on a fantastic season, and a hearty thanks to both teams for making for an exciting finals matchup.  Overtime just tends to spice things up, I guess!

I was actually rooting for the New York Rangers thanks to one of their key players being Swedish speedster Carl Hagelin (though I'm not terrible disappointed since I have no interest in that team otherwise), and because of his excellent playoff performance--seven goals and five assists in 25 games--I decided I should jump on one of his hits in case his Rangers won (this was early in the finals) and he blew up.  Here's what I came up with:

This is actually a card that had been sitting on my COMC watchlist for quite a while, but the price was never right.  Believe it or not, I managed to get this copy on eBay, with his team playing for the Cup, for just $6.50 (plus $3 shipping), which I thought was a very nice deal.  The manupatch makes for a nice signature surface, and Hagelin obliged with a cool autograph that includes his jersey number.

As one of the better young forwards in the game these days, I'm hoping this purchase opens up the floodgates to a large Hagelin PC.  For now, my first hit of the Swede is player #33 in my Michigan Hockey PC.  Hooray for Carl "Bork" Hagelin!
