Bill Muckalt 1998-99 Bowman's Best auto (#A6A)
This card actually came bundled with the die-cut Rich Hill auto from yesterday, and the pair set me back about $11 shipped, which I thought was reasonable. It just made sense to throw this one in and combine shipping. And better yet, it pairs up nicely with Muckalt's other version from the set that I already had!
Chris Getz 2008 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects Orange Refractor (#09/25)
Chris Getz 2011 Topps Printing Plates Black (1/1)
Here's a pair of Getz cards whose numbering averages out to 13! I picked up the Orange Refractor earlier in the month for just $4 shipped, and right now the only other parallel I have scanned from the set is the regular Refractor; more are on the way. The plate was actually a bit of a lark--I noticed it and its not-too-shabby $7.99 opening price and then ended up being the only bidder, meaning I now have my first Getz 1/1, and 21st 1/1 card overall! Not a bad for my my first of Getz, too, since it features a very nice action shot. Chris now sits at 29 IHAS cards, plus the one plate, with a bunch more still to come.
Zach Putnam 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition Status Gold (#15/25)
Zach Putnam 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition Signature Aspirations auto (#21/25)
Zach Putnam 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition Signature Status auto (#04/10)
Yesterday you saw a trio of Rich Hill Triple Threads cards, and today you get the Zach Putnam EEE version. I scored the autos just a few days apart for about $11 each since they seemed pretty rare (I hadn't ever seen them pop up before), and the Gold parallel actually came from COMC at some point during my 2013 purchases. (It was the only COMC Putnam I had left and didn't see any reason to leave it out of this post.) All three feature some sweet die-cutting and colors with the latter two also including Zach's Herbie Hancock. I'm just the Signature Status Gold auto (#d /5) short of Putnam's 11-card run in the set.
Things are looking up in terms of his PC, of which I now have 38/52 cards, and three more 1/1s to boot. They get a bit dicey from here on out, though--almost everything I still need is numbered /5! Speaking of numbers, Zach becomes just the second member of my baseball PC to make it to 30 hits
J.J. Putz 2013 Topps Silver Slate Sparkle Wrapper Redemption (#04/10)
Just one Putz today but it's a solid one. I already owned his Blue Silver Slate card, and now I have the much tougher Silver to go with it! For as "rare" as these seem to be, though, I've seen just about every one of the 10 cards on eBay, although usually for ridiculous prices; this one set me back a relatively modest $9 about a month ago. I still have some work to do on his 17 2013 cards, but I'm now into double digits, which means progress! Make it 111 IHAS Putz cards (three plates) with a good chunk from COMC left to cover.
Chad Henne 2008 SP Rookie Lettermen 'E' patch auto #2 (#33/50)
Chad Henne 2008 SP Rookie Lettermen 'H' patch auto (#04/50)
I like to think I saved the best for last today, eh? I'm betting many of you remember that I finished up my Mike Hart nameplate recently, and now I'm 80% of the way done with his former QB. The "E," my second, came to me via eBay in exchange for exactly $10 early in May, while the "H" was a COMC pickup about the same time as the last Hart letter I needed, for a few bucks more. My 55th and 56th Hennes are big additions that could well lead to another completed nameplate very soon--I'm working on getting the second "N" I need to seal the deal.
Now that I'm caught up on eBay pickups (at least for now), get ready to feast your eyes on the remainder of my COMC loot. Who knows, maybe I'll even get caught up on it before I order yet another package of cards from them!
