Today's post features four new cards of former Michigan CB Leon Hall, who's had a good amount of success with the Cincinnati Bengals since they selected him 18th overall in 2007. Heck, just last week he returned an interception for a score in the Bengals' win over the Steelers for his second career TD. So here's what you've all been waiting for--the loot:
Leon Hall 2007 Bowman Chrome Rookie Autographs Blue Refractor auto (#07/75)
Wow, that is just gorgeous. Topps can mess around with other Refractor colors if they want, but they'll take blue away from my cold, dead hands. As always, that's just the right color for a Michigan Man. I suppose I'm slowly working on a rainbow here as I already have the base and Gold versions. The Gold may be a bit rarer, but for looks, gimme this one any day of the week.
Leon Hall 2007 SAGE Autographs Silver auto (#25/400)
Sorry, Jeff--this is the only one of him in a Michigan uni this time, but at least it's a sweet card. If it looks familiar, that's probably because I already have Bronze and Red versions of this one, meaning I've got another rainbow sort of in-progress.
Leon Hall 2007 Sweet Spot helmet auto (#628/799)
The BowChro is still my favorite this time, but this one's a close second for sure. I'd been after his Sweet Spot manu-helmet auto for a while, and I actually ended up scoring it for a fairly reasonable price. What can I say, I'm a sucker for these!
Leon Hall 2010 Score Signatures auto
We close things out today with a simple yet elegant Score auto. The 2010 set really has a pleasing design, with the sticker really being the only drawback--something I think would be alleviated by dedicating a small portion of the card for the signature area. In any case, I really like the looks of this one, which is why I've worked on picking up similar Score autos of other players as of late.
These four give me cause for celebration, partially because of one milestone: I've now gone over 25 Hall hits (ALL of them autographs of some kind!), making him the 10th player to reach that goal.
Better yet, my Michigan football hits PC has finally crossed the 600-count plateau, which I certainly consider to be a major milestone in that endeavor. Just under a year ago I had hoped to finish 2012 with even 500 hits from all four sports after hitting 400 early on in January. I easily blew away both of those totals, and while many of those cards are ones I bought myself, once again I want to thank everybody who sent me stuff for those PCs this year--as always, I couldn't have done it without you! Once I sit down to think about my 2013 resolutions, I'll have to set a new goal, one that will really challenge me and that will require even more trading with good people like you.
Stay tuned for more soon, and GO BLUE!
Holy crap! Congrats on 600. Your next goal should be 904, that will be our wins after January 1st.
ReplyDeleteThanks, dude! You've definitely contributed to that number as much as, if not more than, anyone else. And I sure hope you're right, that would be awesome.
